These photos show some of the people at the ball at Preston Town Hall on November 22nd.

This ball did not have a theme for dressing up or  decorations. The unique feature was in arranging for leading musicians from Central Victoria and Interstate to join our own bands for an excellent night of live music. There were more than 100 dancers and band-members present.

If you would like to learn the dances so that you can join in our two balls next year then Click Here to find the details.

The five musicians, in the front row, closest to the camera are (From left):- Dave Johnson (NSW), Ray Mulligan (A.C.T), Jim Moir (Melbourne), Greg O'Leary (Melbourne) and Peter Ellis from Bendigo.

Jim and Greg have played together in the Harvest Moon Band since 1993. Both of them have played in other bands as well have frequently provided the music for the colonial and folk based balls and dances.

Dave, Ray and Peter are all collectors, who have published books, run workshops and lead several bands.

LEFT: M.C. Garry calls for an applause for the band at the end of the night. In the front row next to Garry are Richard and Denise who lead the Melbourne Colonial Dance band. There were about a dozen band-members behind the front row, including Harry Gardner from the East Ringwood Folk Club.

RIGHT: A relaxed looking Stephen with the sound system, but the early part of the night was quite hectic.
